A see-saw last over - which included a six, a four, a dropped catch and three run-outs - allowed Kings XI Punjab to end Mumbai Indians' six-match winning streak and boost their hopes for a place in the semi-finals.
Shaun Marsh and Luke Pomersbach's 134-run stand laid the platform but it was Punjab's accurate bowling at the death under pressure that brought the game to a head in the final over.

20 overs Kings XI Punjab 189 for 4 (Marsh 81, Pomersbach 79*, Chitnis 2-40) v Mumbai Indians
Shaun Marsh and Luke Pomersbach's 134-run partnership set up a big total for Kings XI Punjab against the Mumbai Indians. Mumbai's bowlers failed to contain the damage even after Marsh was dismissed as Pomersbach led the mad rush for runs at the end of the innings and added 55 in the final five overs.
In their partnership, Marsh was the more orthodox of the two, playing the spinners by getting inside the line while cutting and pulling the faster bowlers. While both used their feet against the spinners, Marsh cashed in by lofting Vikrant Yeligati inside-out for a six over long-off and Siddharth Chitnis for one over long-on.
Pomersbach, meanwhile, was in a hurry to score and repeatedly stepped out of the crease, mistiming more often than not. He failed to connect when trying to sweep the spinners and also swung his bat wildly at Dilhara Fernando's slower deliveries. But two brutal shots came off his bat in the third over against Ashish Nehra - he lifted a good length delivery for six over long-off before swivelling round to pull a four to midwicket.
However it was Marsh who directed the partnership. He hooked Fernando for a six to fine leg and flicked Chitnis to four to take Punjab past 50 in the seventh over. He got to his fifty in 35 balls. The two ran hard between the wickets and apart from Shaun Pollock, early in the innings, no other bowler looked threatening enough to dislodge them. In the third over, Marsh danced out of the crease to a shorter delivery by Pollock but changed his mind halfway and just popped the ball to point where Robin Uthappa dropped a diving catch. Then in the ninth over, Pomersbach found himself well short of the crease, while running a second, and was lucky that Dwayne Smith knocked off the bail with his hand before the ball reached him from the deep.
It was Chitnis who got Marsh in the end, but it was only because by then Marsh was going for the runs. Chitnis deceived him with a slower one and Marsh holed out to long-on.
Though two more wickets fell soon after, Pomersbach slogged his way to an unbeaten 79 - capitalising on Nehra's wayward length to hit 18 runs in the last over - and boosted Punjab's hopes for the spot in the semi-finals.
